I’m publishing Ashton Brides Bk. 2, Through Summer’s Light, on Kindle Vella first! New episodes/chapters post weekly.

Once it’s complete, I’ll publish it as a regular novel. But if you’d like to read as it first goes live, check it out on Vella! Episode 18 just posted.

The first three episodes are free.

Through Summer’s Light

About the novel:

He’s dark, sardonic, and maybe, just maybe, dangerous. Lady Florentia Ashton is fascinated by a most unsuitable older gentleman. She ignores the disapproving frowns of society and her family to set her cap at him. Silas Weir has come back from India with riches and resentment, but nothing can make him worthy of beautiful Lady Florentia. How can he resist a determined young lady when he doesn’t want to?

An interracial, age-gap, ‘light heroine meets dark hero,’ clean Regency Romance.

A stand-alone sequel to Beneath Spring’s Rain.

Updating with new episodes weekly on Kindle Vella.

The Ashton Brides Series

For the last nine months, I’ve been working hard on writing four rough drafts of a new Regency romance series, the Ashton Brides.

I just finished Book 4!

Here are sneak peeks of the covers:

The Ashtons are four siblings in need of love, and they’ll all find it in the course of one year: 1817.

Beneath Spring’s Rain: Lord Jonathan Ashton discovers his childhood love is in dire straits and rushes to rescue her the only way he can: through a proposal of marriage.

Through Summer’s Light: Lady Florentia Ashton, just finishing her first Season, finds a most unsuitable older gentleman fiendishly attractive, and refuses to let the disapproving frowns of society or her family dissuade her from setting her cap at him.

Against Autumn’s Wind: Lady Cassandra Ashton, determined spinster, has no interest in men except as potential buyers for her horses, but the younger man who stole her first kiss years before has grown up be to handsome, charming, and shows every sign of being still interested.

Beyond Winter’s Snow: Frederick Ashton, Marquess of Kentworth, is loath to contract a second marriage after the first left him betrayed and embittered, but the dowry of the timid lady who proposes to him by letter would solve his financial problems.

I hope to be able to polish, beautify, and release Book 1 to readers in November 2018. Goals!

UPDATE June 2019: Still working on revising and editing this series. At the moment, I’m aiming to release book 1 in Fall of 2019.

The Darkest Hour rough draft done

Some scenes are more or less sketches, but the rough draft for The Darkest Hour is done!
36,000 words, about 170 pages
The Darkest Hour is a standalone Regency romance novella, and also a prequel to The Darkest Summer. It is about the hero’s sister’s romance the year before.

The Darkest Hour:

When Lady Hester discovers her brother Adam, the Duke of Blackdale, was injured in the Battle of Waterloo, she rushes from Scotland to Belgium to be by his side. Her minister, the widowed Reverend Alasdair Gilchrist, escorts her on the journey. She is determined to keep her brother alive, and to keep her greatest secret: she’s been in love with Mr. Gilchrist for years.

Cover Reveal: The Darkest Summer

I’m very excited to reveal the cover design for my first novel, The Darkest Summer!

The Darkest Summer cover

So pretty, and totally fits the story, which is awesome. Designed by the wonderful and talented Priscilla Chaves!

About the Book

Lady Cora Winfield’s life has always gone according to plan—her mother’s plan. So when she meets the dark Duke of Blackdale, Cora is fascinated. Knowing his dangerous reputation, Cora’s mother flatly forbids the match, and the duke decides to take matters into his own hands. Kidnapped and facing a scandal, Lady Cora must now decide whether love will be her downfall or the beginning of a new plan, one she never dreamed possible.

Set in the stormy summer of 1816, this Regency romance is a retelling of the myth of Hades and Persephone.

Releasing November 2017.

First novel contract signed!

I’m taking the plunge.

I just signed the publishing contract for my first novel!

I wrote the majority of my novel, working title Persephone: a Regency Retelling, for Nanowrimo 2015. And now it’s getting published! It will come out November 2017 through Cedar Fort.

It’s a Regency romance set in the summer of 1816, when the weather is cold and stormy. There’s a tortured duke (of course), a beautiful young lady, and a mother who says “No! Absolutely not!”

The duke kidnaps his chosen lady and races to Gretna Green. Her mother chases after, dead-set on her daughter marrying another.

It’s fun.

And I have more novels in the works. I’ve finished the rough draft of a YA scifi romance, and have plans for more.

Thanks to Priscilla for the photos!
